Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Cara Shelton is the first Praise & Worship artist signed to Reflective Music. Her formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Cincinnati where she held the prestigious honor of being a part of both the Darwin T. Turner Scholars and the Unversity of Cincinnati Honors Scholars Programs.

Cara was licensed as a minister in January 2004 and subsequently released her debut cd, An Everlasting Praise, the same year. Due to some bad experiences that left a bad taste in her mouth, Shelton put her professional music career on hold to focus on ministry. Passionate about seeing people at their best and living the life of their dreams, Cara became a certified Dream Manager in 2012. Over the course of her professional career, Cara has facilitated a number of workshops and leadership development programs for organizations including INROADS, KDM POP Solutions Group, Convergys Corporation, and numerous churches. She is also certified by the American Cancer Society as a Fresh Start Program facilitator.

Cara was ordained as an evangelist in August 2017 through the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. She has spent time ministering abroad in Israel and Brazil, as well as across the United States. She currently leads the music ministry at New Dimension Worship Center in Cincinnati, OH. In May 2018, Cara released her first book, Too Beautiful for the Earth, which shares her story of the tragic loss of her twin daughters in 2010 and how parents and families can cope with the grief of losing a child.

In 2017, Cara felt the call to return to music. Around that time, her cousin, Andre DuBois (Reflective Music CEO) reached out to her to discuss working on music together. After the passing of their grandmother just months later, they agreed it was time and began working on her first project in fourteen years. Cara's live recording for The Sound is set for September 2018 with DuBois at the helm as Executive Producer.

"Don't ask for permission to be great...just do it." - Cara Shelton.
